Bonjour: Automated meddling in the lives of people you don’t know

About a month ago, I purchased a black Macbook, because my audio recording rig–in an Antec P180 case (all Antec cases are excellent, fwiw) and with a 19″ monitor–was way too big for my current living situation.  Bonjour, Apple’s stupidly simple implementation of Zeroconf, lets me know when another Macfag is in range.

(as an aside, I just realized I’m using someone else’s wireless access point, but whatever)

I’d never gotten these notifications before now, but I’ve suddenly got 4 Macs exposing their nether regions (mostly their Drop Box, actually) at me.  And I found the weirdest document about hazing or something.  It was incoherent, and only 2 sentences long.  Unfortunately, I had to take some stuff to my mom’s work due to an emergency, and the document is no longer available to share.

I’m shocked that there were 4 freaking Macs next door, and now there are none.  What a freaking bummer.

UPDATE: I found it!
